The Weather and Other Random Musings

Man, I just realized that I haven't touched my blog in about 2-1/2 months.  At that time I was all gung-ho about it, and thought I'd at least download to it once a week.  Oh, well - I'm just lazy I guess.

I'm a little freaked out by the current weather here in South Carolina.  We typically have relatively mild late falls/winters (the odd ice storm notwithstanding), but the weather right now is pretty ridiculous.  The high today (and through the weekend) is going to be in the low 70s.  The low 70s in the middle of December?  That's kinda bothers me a little bit.  It's tough to get in the Christmas spirit when its 72 degrees and sunny.

I was also watching the news last night, and I saw where some dude I went to high school with got caught by one of those local "To Catch A Predator" stings.  I didn't know the guy very well, but it's still mind blowing to see someone you actually know get busted for something like that.  The guy was sentenced to 10 years in the slammer (he had several other sex-related charges against him).  It made me recall the time that I was in college looking through the local paper from my hometown, and reading an article about this guy that was one of my little t-ball buddies burning down a church.  It's just amazing how people that seemed so innocent when they were kids grow up to do these sick things.  Parents - that gives you another reason to look out for your kids and make sure they grow up right.
