Single Dad For Two Weeks

My wife is leaving tomorrow for Europe for two weeks. Her and three of her girlfriends are going over to meet another girl they use to teach with.  This other girl lives in Brussels now with her husband who is some kind of undercover military type.  They are going to take one and two day trips around Europe.  My wife is the only one with small kids.  Only one of the other girls has kids but they have all graduated high school.  My wife is going to have kid withdrawals bad.  She has never been away from hers for more than 4 days.  Me on the other hand, I may go crazy.  We are all off for summer vacation so we are going to be together all the time.  I am honestly not sure I will make it.  For those of you with kids, you know what I mean.  A man needs a break every now and then and there will be no breaks for the next two weeks.  Wish me luck.

you should have signed them up for a sports camp or some shit like that for a week.\r \r Or just lock them in the basement.

We are going out of town this weekend for baseball tournament. Tuesday through Friday next week is baseball camp in the morning. Next weekend is another baseball tournament. Few games mixed in through the week. Problem is that I will be at all of these things. No break for dad. I may have to take up drinking again to get through the two weeks.

You won't think it now, but if you make the whole two weeks worthwhile for all of you, it will be something you will look back on for the rest of your life. More importantly, they will remember it for the rest of their life. I left full time work to go back and get a couple of Masters and spent the entire last summer home with my kids. Hard as hell, but I know my two boys will always remember \"the summer that Dad spent\".\r \r Good luck! I discovered a love for expensive single malt...after they went to sleep of course. ;)

TO make it you will need early bed times and some hard booze. What about grand parents, maybe you could pawn a couple kids off to them :lol:

Get a YMCA membership. Take them to the YMCA every other day and let them run around, swim, and get tired.

My wife is a nurse so I have 3 days stretches where it is just me and the kiddos, good ymca's have free child care (2hrs a day) and wifi, I will go and put the kids in and chill in the lobby to just have some free time.

Dude, men aren't the only ones who need breaks!!!! I try to give my kids away at least once a week.
