My Thoughts On The Steering Wheel

I went out and bought the Microsoft wheel yesterday.  So far I have mixed feelings.  I was really excited to pick it up.  Seems well built.  It was very easy to put together.  Now I have not had the game very long but I was getting to where I could get around the track pretty good.  First race with the wheel and I felt like that I had never played the game before.  There is a definite learning curve.  I normally drive with the third person view.  I like to be able to see what is going on around me.  I found that with the wheel, I did much better with the hood view.  I also discovered that I had to wear shoes to play now.  Not a big deal but something to think about.  With the wheel, when you get a little squirrely, it is much harder to correct.  I also need to figure out a way to stabilize the foot pedals.  I tend to push them away from me as I am playing.  Overall impression,  I think I am going to like it once I get use to it.  Did it instantly make me a better driver, heck no.  It does add to the game so that is good enough for me.
