I really do hate people sometimes...

c/o CNN:

ERIE, Pennsylvania (AP) -- A woman used her 4-week-old baby as a weapon in a domestic dispute, swinging the infant through the air and striking her boyfriend with the child, authorities said.

The baby was critically injured in the attack early Sunday, said District Attorney Bradley Foulk.

"Never, never, never. I can never remember anything like this," Foulk told the Erie Times-News.

Chytoria Graham, 27, of Erie, was charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and simple assault. She was held Monday in the Erie County Jail in lieu of $75,000 bail.

The infant, whose name and gender were not released, was taken to a hospital in Pittsburgh. Authorities did not identify the hospital, and the baby's condition Monday was not released.

There was no immediate indication whether the man Graham is accused of attacking was the baby's father.

Authorities removed four other children from Graham's home and placed them with the Erie County Office of Children and Youth, Foulk said.

>>> We should never wonder why kids act the way the do. We shouldnt' be surprised when they takes guns to school and shoot people, or rape their dates, or get strung out on meth. Look at their parents! I thank God for my parents. There are some things I wish they gave me (like more kicks in the pants when it came to school), but all in all, they were great parents. They taught me how to respect others and work hard. I was a pretty bad kid but I seemed to have turned out alright. Kids these days are mistreated and we are getting our just rewards and I surley hope that Chytoria Graham gets hers.

c/o NY POST:

By STEFANIE COHEN, Wire Services

October 9, 2006 -- A Mississippi man loves ESPN and Joe Montana so much, he's named his firstborn son after both the cable-TV network and the football great.

ESPN Montana Real was born last week at Biloxi Regional Medical Center, and Leann Real of D'lberville promised sports-crazed hubby Rusty Real that he could name their son.

"We were the talk of the hospital," Rusty Real said. "The nurses kept asking my wife if she was really going to let her husband name him ESPN. She said, 'Oh, yes.' "

Last year, the all-sports network cited at least three other people named after it: Espn Malachi McCall in Pampa, Texas; Espn Curiel in Corpus Christi, Texas; and Espn Blondeel in Michigan.

>>>>WTF? I like sports as much as the next guy but c'mon people. Does your devotion to TV and entertainment trump providing a balanced life for your childeren? So now these kids have to go through life being mocked because their parents don't know the meaning of "balance". Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with a unique name. In fact, I love unique and unusual names but you will not find me naming my children any of the following:

  • ESPN
  • Sprts Illustrated
  • Playboy
  • HALO or HALO II
  • Skywalker
  • Chewbacca
  • Darth (anything)
  • Dr Gordon Freemon
  • Mario
  • Donkey Kong
  • AC/DC
  • Freebird
  • Superfly
  • Spiderman
  • Superman
  • Batman
  • Schwartzenegger
  • The Rock
  • John Wayne

........Okay strike that last one, I would name my child after him if my wife would let me (which she didn't). Please guys, I beg you, have a little more respect for your children and don't treat them cavalierly. Maybe they will return the favor.
