I've been a gamer for over 30 years now: like many, arcade games like Asteroids and Space Invaders got me hooked at a young age. Soon after that, I started playing video games on computers, starting with the Apple ][, the Atari 800, the Atari ST, the Amiga 500 and other exotic and delightful machines born in the 80's. I even wrote my own games on those machines. Good times!

In the 90's, I started playing online games like Doom, Doom 2, Descent, Heretic, Duke Nukem and Quake with my friends at a time when a 28.8 kps modem was hot stuff! Ah! Good times again!

Then the Internet fully caught on and online gaming was a blast: Half-Life, Quake 2 and 3 appeared along with CounterStrike and Team Fortress. What a blast!

Mind you, all this time, online gaming was pretty much without voice audio: you could not hear or talk to your friends or enemies in online games.

Some will say that it was for the better...

Fast forwarding to April 2006... After a gaming hiatus of 3 years, I'm now the proud owner of a brand spanking new Xbox 360! Of course, it's connected to xbox Live...and Timmies! Now, I'm starting to regret the Good Old Days when gaming, much like the movies of the 20's and 30's, were silent! :(

Fast forwarding to June 2007... I starting to believe that I'm too old to play online: after endless retarded smack-talks / off-key singing sessions / drunken / stoned monologues emanating from equally retarded teens, I'm seriously considering hanging up random online gaming.

That was until 2 days ago when I stumbled upon this site: finally hope is in sight!

I'm thrilled to be part of this community and I can't wait to get to know you online or even offline as the case may be (looking at you Alejo699!)

Once again, let the Good Times roll! :)

Cheers,

-Gh0st D4wg.
