Shared on Mon, 10/16/2006 - 12:28For now anyways.
After reading Doodi's take on it, its not the machine for me right now. Of course the ONLY reason I still play my gamecube is because of Metal Gear The Twin Snakes and Resident Evil 4.
But this just shows me that Nintendo still has alot of work to do before they will ever consider me a fan of their products. My nintendo love died with the N64.
I was the Nintendo kid coming up. Had the NES all the way through the N64. Even had a couple gameboys. They did me right with Megaman and Ninja Gaiden, Mortal Kombat II (first SNES game with blood) and many other titles. But the N64 is where it went sour for me.
It was a decent system, dont get me wrong. But I was drawn away from it by the Playstation and Dreamcast. Discs were the future...and Nintendo refused to take that step forward.
As I said above I only bought the gamecube for the Resident Evils and Metal Gear. Those are stil the only games I own on it. I owned Smash Bros. and gave alot of the other games a chance. But none of them really brought me any joy. Mario Sunshine was a dissapointment to me, and dont even get me started on the cel-shaded Link.... And Metroid prime was a platformer in FPS clothing....although they said it wasnt an FPS....you were in first person....shooting things. Therefore its a first fuckin person shooter...or FFPS in this case. :P
I dont own a DS...nor do I ever plan on it. I think its a hand-held gimmick...and the Wii is just the gimmicks older brother. Instead of a stylus, you use a remote control. No thanks.
And if I wanna play old-school NES or Genesis games, I'll whip out my old consoles or fire up my emulators.
Nintendo strikes out with me again for this generation. I may purchase one later on, but its not gonna be for a first-party title.
I'll stick with my 360 and other consoles for now.
