My hours at work are cut most totally now. I'm working Monday, Wednesday & Friday now. So I have 4 out of the 7 days of the week off. At first I was furious. But now sitting back and thinking about it, I'm not as mad.
I need to use this time as an opportunity to not only make more cash, but to get back into artwork and whatnot.
So I have devised an evil strategy to not only make money, but make it doing what I love. Make art prints and sell them! Wooo. I have 2 venues I can sell them on. My DeviantArt account, and Ebay.
I've sold artwork on Ebay and made about $20 for 11x17 color prints. So thats not too bad. Here comes the issue though. Original stuff doesnt sell as quickly as say anime or game characters.
I do see alot of "fan art" on ebay for sale and I have done some custom work for people. But I dunno how I feel about selling prints. Artists do it at Dragon*con as well. So I think I may just do it.
First print is gonna be...you guessed it. Gears of War. I'm not gonna be all advertising the prints or whatever because I don't want trouble. But I'll also be doing Halo, FFXII, Blue Dragon and anything else I think would be cool or that people would buy because its popular.
Anyone have any suggestions? I will be doing some original stuff in there as well. Its just more time consuming because Im never pleased with my own original creations.
So I'm gonna use the 2 extra days off to my advantage and try to make some extra cash. We'll see how it goes. I plan to have the 1st print done by Monday so I can bring it to the shop, print some and put em up on ebay the same day.
Give it an old test run to see how it goes.
