First off I feel like someone beat me like I was stealing something. Im coughing up technicolor yum yums and whenever I cough it causes these really cool sparkly dots to appear infront of my eyes. Wooo! Fun.

And Im at work. They asked me to come in (normally Id have the day off), and I said sure...because I had a deadline coming up for a couple of racer cards so I wanted to make sure I got it done incase I got real sick and had to take time off.

But soon I'll be heading home and taking some nice drugs and going to sleep. It will be nice.

Onto other things. Theres been alot of negative, demeaning and overall not-so-cool comments being said in the forums as of late. Some at my posts due to my opinion being not so popular, which is fine because I dont have opinions to be popular. But then some because of questions I ask.

I got a chance to try the Wii the other day...and I was not impressed by it enough to warrant me purchasing one for the forseeable future...and I posted why, and a few other thoughts of mine on the console in general.

IMO the Wii is a gimmick. This thought alone brought on alot of negative feedback. Alot of "You dont know you only played it 2 seconds in Walmart!" and whatnot. None of which really held a mature tone to them at all. Only a few said "hey thats cool...your opinion and choice."

For starters...I played it for almost a full hour. Around 45 minutes or so. And I played it at EBgames since I know the guys who run the store and I wouldnt have to give them my card and ID. And after 45 minutes I wasnt having a good time because of the controller. I didnt care for it. And 2 more weeks with it would not change my opinion of it Im sure. Thats like building a tolerance to anchovies or something..."here...keep trying it until you like it. The flavor doesnt change...you just have to REALLY convince yourself you like it!" And if you dont...your a douche bag who is close-minded and never tries anything new and interesting and your not a real gamer....so there. hah. With some things a tolerance must be built yes. And practice makes perfect. But you have to like it to want to practice it to WANT to get better. And I didnt like it enough or saw myself liking it enough to buy it and build said tolerance. It doesnt take 2 weeks to tell if a console sucks or not.

Thats fine. Im glad you out there who enjoy the Wii are enjoying it. Im happy for you. But the Wii is not for me right now. I think its a gimmick (even if its bringing in non-gamers). That just means its a gimmick that works. And the tech really isnt that new or innovative. Its just a light-gun with some new features...except you have to play all the games with said light-gun. Not fun for me really. Doesnt mean it wont for me later...but as of right now I dont enjoy it. I may give it another shot later with some different games. But right now no....Wii is not for me.

Posted a question about the possibility of host-advantage with certain weapons in Gears of War. Which happened to be soon after a match in which my ladder team got pwnzed hard. Although it had nothing to do with that match. the team that beat us just had a better team, plain and simple. But again...this question turned into a debate and headache for alot of people it seemed. And some people just got a little assenine about replying to the question. I dont mean anyone in particular. And then someone posted in another thread (about the thread I posted) saying something to the effect of "alot of people blame host after they have lost a match even though it wasnt the host...it was just a lack of skill."

That may or may not have been directed to me. But I kinda feel like it was. So Im a little aggravated about that. I never got upset during the game when we got killed, I never posted anything negative about anyone or about the match. Quite the opposite actually. I asked some of the opposing teams members what some of their strategies were so that I could help improve my teams game.

I was asking a simple question because the next day, I noticed the EXTREME differences in the power of my shotgun when I hosted a match and when I joined someone elses. It was an afterthought that had nothing to do with that match. It was about a few unranked non-ladder matches and practice games that some peeps in my clan and I played. It was not a complaint about losing. We lost fair and square IMO.

But these 2 are just examples that happened with my posts. But others posts are pretty similar. Its just seemed to me in general alot of site members have gotten cranky. We have grown substantially over the past year and they may just be growing pains, or strain on the admins...or newbie douche-bag trollers....or whatever.

But my big question is this: WHO SHIT ON THE COATS? I mean come on? This is 2old2play. We pwnz trollers and asshats. So lets get pwning!

Gatsu OUT!

P.S. I dont direct anything in this post at anyone in particular. If you see quote similar to something you may have posted and you feel its out of context or may have an issue, PM me and we can talk about it and make sure we're on the same page.

Thanks.

I think you are shit stirring, rabble rousing, troll that gets a lot of fun out of riling up the troops. Get a life! J/K - Now that I have everyone's attention, I agree with Gatsu. There seems to be a little too much irritability in the forum lately (not that I'M ever guilty of this ;-0 ) I don't know if it is the holiday season that has folks on edge or what. Hopefully it will get better.

Don't worry man, I don't care for the WII either... and that's what makes America great, different opinions.

Get feelin better man, stay down if you need to. Its nice to have gaming console choices, we dont have to like them all or equally. A lot of people need others recognition that they spent their wisely and r offended if you dont agree their choice was best. And the forums...........I think I'm going to take some time off from browsing them. I find myself starting off getting irritated then the next post makes it worse, then I get mad and end up with a sick feeling.:( Hard to understand why some try to use spite and condesention as tools to push their point/attitude. Is it really worth getting in the last word or being "right", maybe these are things missing in their lives, dunno. Get better SOON, cheers.

I bought a Wii, but I suspect the better games down the road will be the ones that don't rely on the gimmick. I'd love to see a version Advance Wars (World War Wii, perhaps), that played as well as the DS version. Note that the DS version had all controls accesible w/o the touch screen. I call "foul" on innovation. Mostly, this is just something called a "mouse pointer" and increasing the PC Gamer/Console Gamer market. Truth be told, the Wii games I like are just fun, control gimmick or not. You can really tell the Zelda game had the gimmick added on for the Wii. In that case, you're exactly right. It's a shame that some people just can't accept the fact that different opinions are not a warcry.

I think alot of the problems arise when people don't read the whole topic and also ignore hard facts. For example - there is a degree, varying degrees of lag, latency, "host advantage" whatever you want to call it in any videogame due to the nature of the internet. The topic was about how some weapons complement the host advantage, lag, latency. Simple enough I thought...

Ditto on the host advantage issue, if merely because of lag. I think my connection sucks, because players in the same general area have no issues with an East Coast host the way I do. I think having the slowest host evens the playing field, IMO. I could be an idiot, as well. I've found myself becoming cranky with the season ans I believe that OMR is on the same page. The holidays are tough for a lot of people and it's rolling into the forums. Hell, my blog has been crapnasty lately. Gotta fix that. :) Go home, you plague bearer!

Try not to let what people post bother you too much. It's not worth it and there should be plenty of other members on the site that you do get along with. The tournament crowd in generally a little more fiesty than the rest of the group and as such should be taken with a grain of salt (and a fifth of whiskey). I had dismissed the DS as a gimmick system and thought it would be overtaken by the PSP. I was wrong and I am not as likely to dismiss the Wii as a gimmick as a result. I will give it a chance and hope that Mario Cart Grand Prii kicks ass.

Heh, you know, Gatsu, opinions are like assholes, everybody has one. Fine by me, and if someone is really making sense, I'm jiffy with that. I'll even revise my stance if that's in order. But if I get timmy-lip, why on earth should I take notice? So, the Wii is not for you. Cool. I think it's a party-machine and not suited for the lone-wolf gamer. There's something very sad in a guy who's all by himself swinging a Wii-remote and make believing he's swinging a 9-iron. For me, the Wii takes four buddies and several six-packs of whatever floats your boat. (Truth be told, nothing I like better than fishing on my Dreamcast with my Sega-fishingrod!But that's not a Wii-remote, that's an actual rod...) I won't get the Wii either. Only because I think it won't see much use out of me. Heck, my 360 is already bitching in her Blog how I'm never there... http://www.360voice.com/blog.asp?tag=CrypticCat

Im not putting the console off completely and just saying "oh its a gimmick I'll never touch it. Im saying its a gimmick, and I didnt particularly care for it." Im not writing it off completely...just not happy with the current way its done. That may change later with more/better games. We'll see.
