I miss LANs....

I really miss the days when I hosted LAN parties and had 12-16 people show up......Halo 2 was always the game of choice. And we played it a lot. I didn't play it on live much until I joined 2old2play and joined a clan.

But my preference for LAN gaming is still strong. The more I game on Live, the more I wish I actually lived closer to some of my clan members. Because I'd rather sit in the same room with them than game over Live.

My big reason is Lag. Yes lag has always plagued online gaming....probably always will.

On a LAN.....no lag. At least nowhere near as noticable.

I love Halo. I've played Halo 1 & 2 a lot....mostly through LAN parties and other get-togethers with friends. I guess that is why I still haven't gotten used to playing Halo 3 over Live. I just flat out suck ass. I was a decent player in Halo 2.....I knew all the maps....weapon locales....all that good stuff. The BR was my go-to rifle. I could actually stick people with grenades...

Tonight proved to me how different an animal Halo 3 is. Not saying its bad. Not at all.....just different. Its hard for me to wrap my head around how some things happen the way they do. Why even though I know I had a bead on the guys head...and got the first 2 shots in with my BR.....why I die. Or why  a shotgun/melee just doesn't seem to work for me at all.

Another thing I found myself doing is not looking around as much.....in Gears if you watch me play I dive and spin around a lot to keep on eye on my ass. In Halo if I don't keep it steady I can't get a good shot in at all really. So I end up getting an elbow to the back of the skull or a grenade from above. In H2 my look speed was 9 all the time. And I kept it pretty steady. In H3 its 6 and no higher....otherwise I can't keep up.

Its hard for me to see whats going on....whose doing what. Its probably because I just haven't played the game much. Or I'm having a problem adapting to how H3 plays. I still play it like its Halo 2. And I can't seem to break that. Partly due to me not playing H3 for a long while. I played the campaign a bunch....and maybe some MP...but nowhere near what I played in H2.

In objective games I dont know whats where and what I need to do. I just feel like all I can do is pick a general direction....walk that way and shoot the guys who aren't the same color as me.

I dunno what to do. Its frustrating.
