Shared on Sat, 12/09/2006 - 19:38First off. the concert.
Friday: 3:30 PM - Brandon, Danny and myself all leave my place and begin our trek to Atlanta which is 3 hours away about. Our journey is to see the great band known as Powerman 5000.
After the 3 hour trip we finally make it into the great Atlanta...well the ghetto part of it anyways. We drive around looking for the place...and realize that the instructions we have our uber wrong. Because there are at least 5 streets named the same thing as the road we needed to get onto. Talk about a bitch.
Well with a little luck from the gods of metal, we find the place. So we get there about 30 minutes early.
So there we are, its under freezing...well at least it feels that way. We're all standing in line outside the club waiting to get in. thankfully it doesnt take too long for them to let us in. We get inside and upstairs and wait for another 15 or so minutes for the show to start.
Finally show starts.
1st band - 6 Tone Star.
They are ok....not great. Not alot of energy....decent music...but the lyrical diversity was very lacking. Same couple of lines repeated in the song over and over...and thats a song.
2nd band - Cinjed
These guys rocked hardcore! Old school metal, infused with a bit of current. These guys apparantly have been around a bit and definitely knew how to rock. They got the crowd excited and put on a great show. I hope to see their cd's in stores soon.
3rd band - Objection
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Emo sounding vocals with harder rock music. Just didnt fit. The band was good...the lead singer sucked.
And last but not least - Powerman 5000!
These guys were pure energy from 1st song to last song. People jumped non-stop for like 45 minutes to an hour.
They played alot of stuff off of the "Tonight the Stars Revolt" album, a few off of Transform and then a couple off of their newest album.
The show overall was awsome and a great experience. I hope to go to more shows at this venue because it wasnt too big. My ears are still frigging ringing from the show. lol. So it was awsome. Next time though Im gonna take zero's advice and bring ear plugs. lol.
Now onto the trolls!
Holy shit....who shit in everyones cereal? I wasnt on yesterday...but I come back and theres locked threads, talks of douche-bags of x-mas past coming back to cause problems...and just overall people up in arms over nothing...even in some stuff I've posted.
Im not pointing anyone out in particular because theres no point...it'd just cause problems. This site is a community of gamers. And with that comes alot of different opinions. And even though everyone is entitled to their own opinion...its just aggravating when someone just blatantly goes into another direction to cause problems or to try to get a rise out of someone.
Sometimes its hard to ignore. But I do because I dont want any ripples. I like my social circle to be as drama-free as possible. So I sit back, and try to post with a cool head and just ignore those who want to cause problems or are overall asshats about things. Even Faelorn wrote about this in his blog a day or so ago...so Im glad Im not the only one. Thought maybe I was just in a shitty mood today or something. LOL.
I've got faith in our admins and other "pillar" members of this community. And I hope a little more cheer falls on the site soon.
