Shared on Thu, 05/03/2012 - 14:29In honor and memory of my Aunt, who passed away last Saturday, I write today.
She was a warrior of this earth, fighting chronic illness for the majority of her life. She fought for her kids, she fought as a staunch liberal, and she fought for herself. She was a gifted MD. She loved flamboyant clothing. She loved her dogs and her family. She was kind and generous. I admire her and feel blessed to have her as my Aunt.
I miss her on so many levels but I know because of her influence I will know her every day. It took me time when my Grandmother Helen passed, to see the universe again as a whole and vibrant sea of endless possibilities and mystery. It took less time to grieve now and I am thankful to be able to feel connected to all that is. Eternity is so long that I feel everyone I meet I will at some point see again…maybe not as a person instead maybe a star or a house plant or a musical purple mohawked gerbil. Enjoy the infinite because it’s all you got.
I will always remember you Aunt Nancy, may you rest in the all the wondrous and beautiful dimensions of the universe.
