Two snipers go head to head amid urban ruins during World War II's greatest battle: Stalingrad. Ace Russian marksman Vassili Zaitsev (Jude Law) is an unwilling hero to a nation that needs heroes. But his number may be up when the Nazis send in crack shot Maj. Konig (Ed Harris) to take out Zaitsev. What ensues is a deadly game of cat and mouse.

Kinda an older movie, but still great. We used to watch this one in the Marines, alot. Parts of this story are true. I won't put any spoilers in. put one part was taken right from Barrett's(most famous sniper. Barrett .50 cal!) book. I lucked out and actually got to fire a Barrett .50 cal in Cuba. Tight, tight groups. We were putting groups onto a 1 inch by 1 inch white sticker..............We were only 3 feet away, though!!!! Ha!! There is only one guy in the world that makes the scope for the rifle in Virginia. He makes them in his garage. The front barrel isn't connected to the stock. only the reciever. It "floats" above the stock. Anyway............good flick.

An expert marksman (Mark Wahlberg) is coaxed out of seclusion by colleagues who need his help in preventing a plot to kill the president. But he soon realizes he's been set up when he's framed for the assassination attempt. Can he elude the law long enough to bring the real culprits to justice? Danny Glover and Michael Peña (World Trade Center) co-star in this political thriller based on a novel by Stephen Hunter.
If you know any more great sniper flicks let me know! I have sniper2 and 3 in my netflixs queue. I haven't seen them so I didn't list them. I have a documentary of sniper school, also. If they are good I will blog 'em.
