I was playing Oblivion last night and a glaring glitch that could have been easily forseen and avoided kind of kicked me out of my groove. I posted something on the Oblivion Forum if you're curious.
The more games improve and become immersive, the more that simple logic traps will frustrate and infuriate gamers. Game testing is essential and I think that as games get more complex that top tier developers need to maintain open lines of communicaiton with their customers so that fixes can be developed and rolled out. A lot of people bemoan "beta releases to retail" and out of the box updates, but games always had problems, now that we're wired, we can fix them. Just my $0.02.
