Wow, what a milestone! I am now at my fifth Gamer's Log entry. Ok, seriously though, I suck at remembering to blog with my GLog. So maybe five really is a milestone? Yeah, I didn't think so either... Anyway, on to the good stuff!

Long Live the Vita!

I am now the proud owner of a PS Vita. I fell in love with the Liberation Limited Edition when it was announced at E3 earlier this year and I knew that I just HAD to have it. The crystal white edition of the Vita is slick, sleek and damn it's fun to play too.

I fully admit that I am ultimately an Xbox kind of girl. We have a PS3 in our home and I'm don't believe I've ever played anything on it...EVER.

So why a Vita then? Did I mention that it's slick, sleek and fun to play...Ok so beyond that, we didn't have one in our household and someone had to get one so I pulled the trigger. You see, we have a bit of a problem in our house that we LOVE technology and gadgets. Xbox 360 - check, we have 5, Kinect - check, we have 2. Playstation - yep, we have one. OUYA - yeah, it's on the way. Nintendo DS - check, Nintendo 3DS - check. IPhone - check, we have 4 in our family plan. Wii - Well, we have all the "real" consoles and devices. haha! I told you we have a problem.

I've wanted a handheld gaming device for a while and the Vita really seems to fit what I was looking for. The graphics on the DS are shitty at best so I knew that I didn't want that. On the Vita, the graphics are great and the screen is a great size for gaming. Not too small, and not too big. I love it so far and have been playing it constantly on my commute. So far I only have one game but I may pick up a few others this holiday season.

Though, I'm only on my second "mission", I absolutely love this game so far. It has typical AC controls and the addition of the tree jumping is pretty darn cool too. I actually look forward to my train commutes now and time flies by to/from work. I hope to have time to write-up a more in depth review of the game but the LAN may get in the way of that. I'll have the Vita with me at the LAN though so feel free to ask me for some hands on time with it. I recommend picking up this Vita bundle sometime this holiday season. It's totally worth the money.

There is a vita forum on 2old2play but its pretty dead.  I got a vita at launch and have to admit its been a huge disappointment. I still play my PSP way more.  I guess its going to get harder for tech like this to compete as smart phones get better and better.

Interesting...so do you think you're playing the PSP more because of the amount of games?

Also, I am a proud member of the Vita Power group now. W00t! w00t! 21

I bought the same bundle, I'm a sucker for Assassins Creed.  I've only played a little bit, I'll play it once I'm done with AC3.  But I just came across this - http://www.vg247.com/2012/11/06/assassins-creed-3-liberation-bug-threatens-save-files/

Cool! Once you get further into it, let me know what you think about the game. Some of my initial love has worn off as I'm now dying repeatedly during a "boss" battle.

That sucks about the bug. I hope they fix it soon and that none of us encounter it. angry
