WASHINGTON - A large U.S. spy satellite has lost power and could hit the Earth in late February or March, government officials said Saturday. The satellite, which no longer can be controlled, could contain hazardous materials (beryllium), and it is unknown where on the planet it might come down, they said.
This satellite is the size of a bus, and weighs about 10 tons...
The last one to enter our orbit crashed a few thousand miles off from the area they predicted. Their only positive thought? "It's not the first time this has happened." Aren't you comforted?
