Yet More Drama in Our Life

No need for prayers or mojo, etc. but I had a motorcycle accident last September (9/11/11 to be exact). Had 6 broken ribs, broken ankle, and a thumb that was broken in two places, One was so shattered that it required a bone graft. I  put the bike down on the pavement starting at about 40 mph to avoid rearending a couple of cars that braked HARD to avoid some guy passing us in the right lane that was ending and he cut in. The bike had $3500 damage but is all fixed up now and I will be able to pick it up in a week or two.

My wife would prefer that I never ride again, but that ain't gonna happen!

My clan knew about this but didn't want to pass on the info to the rest of the place until now.

Way to get back on the horse! I was worried that your riding days were over. That's awesome news!

Thanks, Armor. I  only have to wait for my new helmet to come in and for the weather to be adequate (prefer 40-50° and sunny, or better). I got a new coat (actually second hand from my nephew who supplied my last coat) and a NEW pair of boots. Anxious to ride again.

I'm just glad you're ok.

Might I suggest for future riding, an air vest?

I wear one when I ride my horse and it definitely has made a difference when I did come off.  The vest inflates very quickly and provides a cushion along the spine and tail bone, around the neck and over the ribs.  The first time I came off I literally bounced on the ground, was able to get back on and continue riding with no soreness or bruising the next day.

Glad you are doing well!  Remember...whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger !smiley
