Wow, News Comments Really Sucked...

...for internet explorer. I haven't used IE in so long that I never even realized that the sites News Comments were almost completely unstyled as opposed to FireFox. I guess I just treat FireFox better because its what I use.

I also realized that the default sorting for comments was threaded for all users. OMG, that really looks like crap! I set mine to nested the day 2old2play was launched and never even realized it wasn't default! So after about a year and a half, everyone will now have "nested" comments. This just means that all comments can be seen on one page and you wont have to click the links just to see someones reply. It also means that you will actually see who is replying to who becuase comments are "nested" into replys.

It was always supposed to be like this but I just never remembered to make it default. Better late then never I guess. If you like the old way of comment displays (since most of you have had it in threaded mode for over a year) you can always go into your account and click on the Comment Settings tab and set it to Thread. Personally I think that sucks huge balls.

Anyway, the comments are now styled for all browsers and should look better for IE.  Oh and I also made it so that if you click on the comments link from a home page story it will send you directly to the comments and skip the story.  Kinda like what I did for the blogs.

P.S. Do you guys think the Post Comment box should be at the top of all the comments or at the bottom? As it stands now, the box is just before the comments start, but I was kinda thinking it would make more sense to be all the way at the bottom. That way, if your reading all the comments, you dont have to scroll to the top to post a new one. Instead after the story was completed, you would juts see the comments start up. What do you think?

I agree that the Post Comment box should be at the bottom.

I think it should be on both. That makes it useful in all cases. Of course, don't put it on the bottom if there are 0 comments listed :)

I was thinking there would just be a quick link to the box on the bottom.

I agree with bottom. Would help avoid duplicate comments, if people would sort of scroll through the others before they post. Of course, that's assuming a lot on my part...
