Fuck Comcast. Fuck the Internet

So today I will not be taking any PM's, Emails, or fixing the site in any way.  Why?  Because right now I'm downloading at 5.2k. How fast is that?  Well, its about as slow as less then a third of a dial up modem.  In fact its been like this for 3 days.  Lucky for me a tech from Comcast finally showed up today around noon.  All is well right?  Actually no.  This lazy fuck showed up about 2 hours late.  Came into the condo and said to me,  "Ok lets hurry this Im tired and dont feel like being here."  Are you fucking serious?  ITS YOUR FUCKING JOB.  Have some respect.

So after about 2 min of asking for water and a chair to sit in he finally tests my download speed (which I already told him mind you).  "Whoa, you download is really slow man.  Looks like your internet is fucked."  Really?  Wow, I had no idea.  What gave that away?  Was it the fact that maybe your job requires you to fix this sort of problem which is why you are in my condo in the first play?  MORON.  So after the test he says, "Well, I have no idea how to fix this so Im just going to call in another tech."  Wait what?  How the fuck did you get the job then?  Does Comcast just hand out free jobs to any dumb fuck that buys a comcast shirt?

With that he got up, told me he didnt want to wait on the line for a confirmation call and left!  That was it.  3 days of waiting and the whole meeting lasted about 2 min.  Im so pissed right now I could through a baby kitten into on coming traffic.  I cant work, cant play games, and cant surf the net for porn.  Im fucked.  Fuck Comcast. Fuck the Internet.

P.S.  I have no time to spell check because that would require me editing this text which with these speeds could take 40min to an hour.

that's hilarious...not for you, but the fact that someone so terribly unqualified and unprepared could even be allowed on a jobsite like that. that dude needs to get reassigned to a job he can actually do like snapping letters down on a keyboard ("TED! you put the SPACE BAR on the ESCAPE spot!!!") lol

Comcast hires all contractors to do their outside work so they don't give a shit...We just had them out last week when our modem died.

Don't threaten to leave - just do it. I just switched to Verizon FIOS cause I grew tired of Comcast anally raping me. (dropped connections, slow speeds, a less than comcastic customer service experience). Comcast will attempt to bribe you to stay .. don't listen. Since the switch, I've never been happier. :)

doodi, i think you should apply for a job at comcast, then never do anything except clock in. You could get at least a 2 week pay check for almost nothing before they fire you. Hell, if you act like this guy and just go out on 1 call a day around noon when you wake up, stay for 3 minutes, then leave, who knows how long you could keep a steady paycheck coming in. I'd also walk into the house and ask for a beer, I'm thinking you might get 1 our of every 4.

Like chicklet, I also recently ran running and screaming from Comcast to Verizon FioS. The system simply rocks. And, on top of that, the customer service is solid as well. I needed help configuring their router (have to use it) for the 360, and they walked me through getting into the router (dumb thing had a non-standard password associated with it) without blinking an eye. Show your displeasure with your wallet.

I have Comcast, and they are currently in the process of assraping me. I got a letter the other day saying they are raising my Internet by $15/month, but I could get it for the same price if I get cable through them. I called Dish network to see what their DSL is all about, but it's via satalite, so no XBL. If I could get any other high speed internet that allowed me to play Xbox Live I would. Damn living in bumblefuck.

I went through a similar Comcast nightmare. Raising hell doesn't help because no one at the call centers have the power to do anything about it. You can ask to talk to superior after superior, but none of them can do anything. That has to be their strategy for the way they set up their customer service centers. They just keep you talking until you're tired of talking and eventually you just give up. I switched to WOW! here in the Chicagoland area and have had nothing but pleasant experiences so far. Check it out if you'd like.

Oh, are you telling me and the world that Comcast determines the quality of tech to send to a service call based on where they live? SC

If you have a choice, dump comcrap. Otherwise, you should have gotten the guys ID (picture of him, picture of him badge), then called comcrap the minute he left. Told them exactly what you wrote up. Then document it and send a fax and/or snail-mail to local and corporate HQ. If you don't get an adequate reply within a week, file a complain with the BBB and find another ISP.

Awesome blog. I panic when the internet goes down too. The condo you are in may have a damaged cable amp. It speeds up all the lines to various rooms in the complex. I am not sure if it is called an amp or what, its just some cable hardware that if damaged you'll have real slow speeds. I'm sure you already spoke to a person over the phone and tried to resolve the issue remotely so the amp may be the problem.

I have no choice but to respond to this and tell nothing but the truth. The truth is: While it's unlikely a Comcast technician would arrive and only be there 2 minutes and then tell you he has no idea how to fix it, it IS possible. It's possible because you live in Chicago. That place is a nasty dump of a city and I'm confident Comcast sent a tech that fits the neighborhood, so move. It's possible because, as you said yourself, you surf porn. Porn is a huge killer of PC's and laptops. It's quite possible it took longer to boot up your pile of shit because of all the spyware collected by your porn sites loser. I will give you all some helpful information. Mainly you because you were ignorant enough to actually blog this shit. If you were so smart, before you called comcast you would have checked the health of your modem by trying a simple IP address in the IE address bar. Maybe 192.168.100.1 and see if the signal level is good. is the RX between -10 and +10 Db? TX, is it over 30 but under 50 asshole? How about the signal to noise ratio? RX is the elvel of signal getting TO YOU from the tap outside. TX is how much signal it takes for your modem to raise above the ingress in order to get the packets of information BACK to the cable sonet and CMTS. If your TX is under 30, you will have trouble getting your packets through the system return, especially during peak times. If it's over 50, that indicates too much ingress generated, usually within your dump of an apartment complex. While you already knew this stuff, I'm sure you were also aware your shitty speed test was only a fragment of the story, right? I mean, unless you're that unqualified tech who has the URL to Comcast's internal network, it's an "unqualified" speed test at BEST that you run. You knew that, right? Jumping into a public URL and testing how fast you process small amounts of packets can only tell you how fast that underpowered machine you have is capable of doing it, not how fast the modem processes packets through the nodes, fiber and CMTS. If, by some odd chance your machine HAPPENS to be new or using VISTA, did you fucking bother to look to see if you are running IP Version 6 and not 4? THAT would slow you down as well. Here's a hint homer, it's more often than not your fucked up, over porned, under protected pile of shit machine or inferior interior wiring causing you problems than it is with the ISP. That system is a 2 way cable system capable of providing your sorry ass a place to jerk off and still live at home while watching on demand and never needing a real girlfriend. Stick to blogging. It's obvious from reading this, people must really think because you blog, surf porn, and game, that you are a computer GOD! Fuckin LOSER

Hey jack ass.... why don't you send me a private message with your modem model and CMAC address.... I'll fuckin look up the health of your modem right away and tell how full of shit you are... If Comcast sucks so bad, how is it that I can tell from Boston how your modem is doing and your "unqualified" tech couldn't? You fukin crack me up. I'm printing this blod to bring back to the cable office and hang up.... naturally using white out on the site and user so they won't bother to coe and read..... hahah jesus...
