What Has SXY Been Up To?

Haven't blogged in a while. I've been busy with the new job and other things in my life. Here's a bit of an update...

 

Job

Things are going alright. I seem to be able to keep up with the work. It's a welcome change of pace. They don't feel the need to force people to work mandatory overtime. I only work 40 hours a week now. Much better than the nearly 60 hours a week I was working at my last job. And since I'm hourly I actually get paid for overtime. I've only done 3 hours but it was nice to a) be politely asked to do it, b) paid for it and c) thanked for doing it. I am still trying to adjust to not being paid every other week. I just have to be careful about the money I spend and plan things out a little better.

Car

A couple of weeks ago my car was repossessed. Apparently Chase doesn't appreciate it when you don't pay your note. I tried really hard to come up with the money but I just couldn't get it before they picked up the car. Friends of my suggested hiding it but I really didn't have it in my to go through all that. About 3 days after they took it I did manage to get part of the money together. Almost $1500. I thought that I could get my car back and then just make the last couply of payments and pay the darn thing off. I thought wrong. Chase decided that I couldn't get the bar back until I paid off the entire loan plus a lovely fee for having to repo the car. Fuckers! When all was said and done I ended up paying nearly another $1300. On the bright side I now own my car. It will be nice not to pay $307 every month on a car note. On the bad side...who ever towed my car didn't know what the hell they were doing. They messed up my alignment. So now I am waiting to get paid again so I can go get that fixed. Part of me wants to complain but then I decided not to. Somehow I managed to get my car back without paying the $300+ to the towing company for storage. I'm afraid if I make a big deal then someone will try to make me pay it.

Dating

I continue to go out on dates with the lovely lesbians of Columbus. My major issue is that I don't call. Women apparently hate that. LOL. I tend to get home and not want to deal with the world anymore. Then I don't call anyone. Of course this makes the ladies think that I don't care about them. That isn't the case at all but I can understand it. So I've been trying to be better at calling and keeping in touch. Recently I thought that it might be easier if I just had a girlfriend. Then at least I'd only have one woman to keep up with. But right now I just don't think I can bring myself to settle down. I kind of enjoy the freedom of being single. The thought has occured to me recently though that I need to work something out soon or my daughter will have graduated and moved out and I'll spend all my free time alone. I don't want to turn into the crazy cat lady.

Gaming

What game am I gaming these days do you ask? Mass Effect 2 of course. I've gotten addicted to it again. I started playing through it a 2nd time. Since I got paid a few weeks ago I splurged on some MS points and I was able to get all of the DLC (minus the gamer pics and alt appearences for some of the characters) for the game. I'm pretty excited about the Shadow Broker DLC coming out next month. If I keep playing at the same rate I "should" be finished with mh 2nd play through just before Halo Reach comes out.

My daughter and I have been waiting for Reach to come out since it was announced. Why I get so happy for Halo I'm not sure though. I will go through the campaign and have a great time. Then I'll join my buddies for some online MP, get killed repeatedly and then sulk in a corner. How one person can be so bad at MP and yet love gaming so much I'll never understand. Perhaps I should just stick to RPGs. Anyway, looking forward to Reach as it will mostly likely be my last new game purchase for 2010.
