I did and all I have to show is bruised knuckles! What a way to start the year. Thankfully, nothing is fractured, not even the horse's jaw:(

Keep on Go!

edit:  More information inbound.

I was helping a friend this weekend taking care of his stable (~40 horses) which meant letting the horses to and from the exercise pen, including a three year old stud that stands at the shoulder taller than me.  I was trying to get a halter on him to lead him back to his stall and the bugger would keep biting the piece that would go around his nose and would not let go.  So, with one hand on the rope that was around his neck, the other had was trying to manuever the halter over his nose without getting bit, which is a favorite past time of his.  Needless to say, he went for my hand, grabbed the halter and I swung my fist as a means of dissuading him not to bite me.  *Sigh* it didnt' work.  No, there was nothing else available to use for punishment when he was biting.  And instead of catching him with the front of my fist, he jerked his head up and my knuckles caught his jaw.  Granted, not the proper form for a punch, but it was too late to reposition...  BTW, he did go back into his stall and the following day was much easier to get him in and for those who say I should have left him in his stall... Well, I was going to have to clean his stall and he is much easier to work around when he has had a chance to work off some steam:)
