Monday's rant (kind of)

Dastard and I spent the weekend working on moving things to ready the rooms for the boys. The youngest arrived today and OMG is he tall. Twelve years old and over 6 feet tall. Of course, the oldest is even taller. Hugging these kids is really a skill in avoiding the armpits! Cant' quite put my chin over the shoulder even on tip toe! Sadly, I'm out of town and am really bummin.

I put in a new game (for me) in the 360 last night for the first time. Return to Castle Wolfenstein. It took a while to catch on as to what I was suppose to do, but it isn't a bad game. I completed the first mission. I know there was a brief mention of the clan to start playing this game, but haven't seen anything new. I do know that Hour of Victory is coming out next month and that will be a hot game for us.

Until then, I'm saving up for Guitar Hero. There was a time I used to play a six string acoustic for church and then started playing bass for the school band after football season. (Hard to march with an electric cord!) Still have the string guitar but just can't find the motivation to pick it up again. One reason, as some people found out, is the blisters on the tips of fingers. You really have to keep your nails trimmed to get the fingering right to play a chord. I kind of miss it, but just don't have the time to practice. I really think that the game will be in the house by the end of the month since the youngest step kid plays guitar also and the oldest plays piano! It will be easy with both musical talents in the house!! I think I may even bring it home tomorrow night before I go home! Dastard, if you are reading this....:)

Well, the finals of Dancing with the Stars is on and the last show of the season for Heroes. I know, Dancing with the Stars is not on a lot of people's lists but you know, I am really impressed with Laila Ali (yes, Mohammed Ali's daughter) and the grace she brings to the dance floor. As for Heroes, well I shouldn't and won't even begin to defend that choice!

Would you rather
Run a marathon with a blood blister on each toe
or
go a solid month with a horrible sunburn on your neck, head, and feet?

Keep on Go!

edit: ok, I don't know how I did this but it isn't a link!  Ok, got it fixed.

As for the would you rather - I'd rather have the sunburn than even attempt a marathon - much less run it with blisters! Guitar Hero is a great game - I've played the guitar for about 15 years, and I picked up GH on launch day. It's challenging once you get to the harder levels, and always alot of fun to jam out on your favorite rock tunes. I don't have Wolfenstein but used to play it a lot...Hour Of Victory will be good, but it won't be as good as COD - it'll be nice to have a new game to play though! I'm hoping the multiplayer is decent so we can get some good clan matches in... I've never seen Heroes :::::::::::::;;;ducks to avoid a slap::::::::::::::::::;....but you're right - Ali can dance! My wife is hooked on that one...

Grew up in Florida, would definitely rather have the sunburn as i used to run for HS. Running sucks period lol. Played the guitar for about 10 yrs as well, but got frustrated at it and picked up the bass to help a buddy's band out. Well, things went as bands do, and havent touched the bass in a while. Picked up a guitar the other day and can't even play it! It seems i got so used to using the pinky(i have small hands) that i can't even pull off a powerchord lol. that and the strings are way too close together now. but i do miss it.

You are giving stepmoms a bad name by playing games and being fun. I played, then stopped, Castle Wolfenstein, but glad I finished it. Run a marathon. Blisters are part of it anyway.

That's the point, C. These kids have had enough of "step" parents and just need a friend and some one to just be there.
