Shared on Mon, 05/28/2007 - 17:52It's been a good weekend. Played some games, worked with the filly, got some things done in the house and went to a movie.
I am being schooled in Halo 2 by the boys in the house. And, I'm learning, slowly. I would really like to play some CoD 2 with them and I might have a small advantage, LOL.
Went out to the barn today and worked with the filly again. She was very active since she hasn't had a chance to get out and expend all of that energy. The playpen is too wet. We have had over 10 inches of rain this past month. But, there are things I can do with her without having to get the spunk out. Just having her stand for grooming in the round pen is good.
Dastard raised my desk 3 inches so I'm not so bent over while I study and hung some curtains in our bedroom. Very industrious
Movie! Pirates 3. While it was close to three hours long, it was well worth the time. I really enjoyed the film. No, I'm not going to give a synopsis since it is still new and I'm sure there are others waiting to see it. There were some really good scenes that elicited gales of laughter.
I even started running today. Something I haven't done since I was in the seventh grade, over twenty-five years ago. I was very active in volleyball, basketball and track before I entered high school. It was the fall of my freshmen year that I was diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis in my knees. All physical activity was shut down. My knees would swell up three times normal size and very painful. Through the years I have been reluctant to try running again. Very slowly I have become active with all my walking, but never ran. I decided to try and see what happened. My lungs could only let me get the length of the block, but I did it twice out of my 2 mile walk. Then I stretched and stretched to make sure any sore muscles were not from lactic acid buildup. I'll see how I feel tomorrow. If it isn't raining in the morning, I'll take the dog for a walk.
Tomorrow it is back to work. I have to finish my report from my last assignment and see what the district has next for me.
The men and women who have sacrificed their lives are at the forefront of my mind today, as is fitting for Memorial Day. I thank them all for the freedoms we all enjoy in this great country.
Keep on Go!
