Life's Ponderings

I saw a woman wearing a sweat shirt with "Guess" on it.
So I said "Implants?" She hit me.

How come we choose from just two people to run for
President and over fifty for Miss America ?

I signed up for an exercise class and was told to wear loose-fitting clothing. If I HAD any loose-fitting clothing, I wouldn't have signed up in the first place!

When I was young we used to go "skinny dipping," now I just "chunky dunk.

Don't argue with an idiot; people watching may not be able to tell the difference.

Wouldn't it be nice if whenever we messed up our life we could simply press 'Ctrl Alt Delete' and start all over? AMEN, AMEN !!

Wouldn't you know it...
Brain cells come and brain cells go, but FAT cells live forever.

Why do I have to swear on the Bible in court when theTen Commandments cannot be displayed outside?

 Bumper sticker of the year:
"If you can read this, thank a teacher -and, since it's in English, thank a
soldier "

And remember: life is like a roll of toilet paper. The closer it gets to the end, the faster it goes......
Keep on Go!!

As a former soldier and an officer myself, I disagree with the bumpersticker. There's no reason to thank a soldier for you or anyone else speaking English. It's fallacy. It might look reasonable, but it really isn't. The only people to thank in all earnest are the people working, trying to build a future for their kids and paying their taxes, which makes having an effective military possible in the first place. Without the backing of the people, nothing can be accomplished. ;)

Hey Cryptic, I believe the sentiment is valid. If we had been defeated by the Germans for example, we would probably be speaking German. Yes we rely on each other to provide the funds, the manpower, and the technology, but ultimately it relies on the folks on the front lines to keep the foreign speaking devils from imposing their language and lifestyles on us all. Devon quoted "And remember: life is like a roll of toilet paper. The closer it gets to the end, the faster it goes...... " When you get to my age, you realize only too well how true this is!!!!!!

@Cryptic: As a newer nation, we were in battles with foreign countries such as Japan, Mexico and Germany. While I appreciate and understand your point of view, I look at the bumper sticker as a way to thank our military for their protection of our Bill of Rights and Constitution. You are right, the people of a nation make things possible, but it is can boil down to a question of which comes first, the people or the military, because we would be here without either and each depends on the other!

If it wasn't for the military, we actually might still be speaking English with am accent. If not for the sacrifices of the military, we would not enjoy the freedoms we have. Period. I'm on my third roll of toilet paper this week. What does that mean? (I know what's coming)
