Shared on Mon, 01/15/2007 - 14:36It's been awhile since my last post - a busy month with work and getting back in to the swing of things with the kids back to school.
I can't believe what an amazing time it is for games. Too many to play, too little time. The 360 seems to be really hitting it's stride. MS continues to impress me with this generation. They seem to have really learned their lesson. I haven't has this much fun in a long time. Here is my latest rundown:
GoW - having a blast playing online with the 2old2playwest clan when I have time to get online. I haven't played the new maps yet, but I'm definitely looking forward to it. See you all online!
Lost Planet - This was a Christmas gift (the preorder) and I'm just getting into it. Great next-gen graphics and the VS is alot of fun.
Rainbow Six:Vegas - This was my birthday present last month (the big 4-0) and I am being frustrated in the tunnels. Still a fun game - a lot different than gears and that is probably my problem: lack of patience!
PS3 - I decided a long time ago I would pick one up when I could walk into a store and grab one off the stack laying there. I didn't expect it to be early January! Sony is off to a horrible start with this console and seems to be the laughing stock in the "console wars" - for now. Let's see how they recover. Full review to follow. I will say the graphics show some serious promise and can look amazing at times. Which leads me to...
R:FoM - I'm mixed on this game. Let's face it, the graphics aren't that great, the textures stink, but the framerate is outstanding (it should be). I'm not going to make excuses for it because it's a launch game. On the plus side, I played a 32 player deathmatch last night and it was a blast. No lag at all and the game buzzed right along. Gameplay online great - the online system Sony has itself - not so good.
Time to go get my wife off the Pink DS.
Have a good MLK day and take a few moments to remember a great man.
