Shared on Sun, 08/08/2010 - 11:30Wanted: a support group for grown-ups who would love to actually GAME every now and then but cannot seem to find the time. Seriously I don't remember the last time I logged onto XBox Live, the last time on PSN was over a week ago or so for 20 minutes of CoD action with the brother, and since subscribing to GameFly 3 months ago I've checked out and played 2 games total. This is getting absurd, and I'm going to have to find another way of approaching this hobby of mine.
Historically, I've been somewhat of an everything-gamer, trying out different titles across platforms, genres, etc. to experience all the industry had to offer. These days, I've got a max of 1-2 hours a night if 1) the kids make it to bed on time, 2) there aren't other things I have to do (around the house, for work, errands and especially 3) I actually have the energy to do it. There's no way I can possibly play everything I want given the time I actually have to game.
I've got a nice gaming laptop, a 360, a PS3 and a Wii. The games I want to play on all of them are a mile long. I don't have the time. Anyone else in this situation? How do you cope? Should I ditch a system or two? Start pruning the list and get REALLY selective (deep dives into just a few instead of playing through everything possible)? Focus only on multiplayer stuff that gives a lot of mileage and kiss my beloved single-player adventure/RPG/etc. titles goodbye?
