Got my first lesson

Mark Kistler sent me the rough draft of the first two chapters of his upcoming book, You Can Learn How-To-Draw in 30 Days! last night.  The lessons are definitely geared toward the adult who is just trying to draw for the first time.  Mark wants me to time how long it takes me to complete each lesson, as his promise to busy adults is that it will only take a 20 minute commitment per day to learn how to draw.  I'll get the first lesson completed and I'll post the results later today.

That said, this morning's drawing is a 2-for-1.  I did a little fortress for ants and a studying mantis.  In these pictures, I used a fine point Sharpie to highlight what I initially drew in pencil.

They keep getting better and better. What is that hole in the side of the ant fortress for? Do they have a cannon in there?

@MTK - Actually, that hole is where they throw the bloodied and mutilated corpses out of. Pick whatever type of corpses you find most gnarly (kittens, puppies, evangelical Christians).
