Caturday... er, Saturday

In spite of having the crib ALL to myself last night, I did the so-called responsible thing and stayed away from my long-awaited scotch. I wanted to get up early and hit the gym. Yeah, I know - all work yada yada yada but this morning was very productive and I'm pretty glad about that. Its going to be a lousy weekend anyway, so now I get to take a shower, get in my lazy pants and play with my wife and son today. Looking forward to it - haven't seen much of either one of them this week. Its been a long week, she's worked a few late night shifts, and both were sick so it will be nice to get back in a normal routine.

I finished the logo design for Poplar Grove... and I hate it. I had to crank something out relatively quickly after the file corruption debacle I had to deal with on Thursday, but the swap is complete - he's got his logo (and he loves it), and my koi pond is now replaced with a nice patch of grass... now about all the mulch and compost, well - don't ask. Tomorrow is going to be some backbreaking labor moving a gigantic pile of crap from the front yard to the back, but at least I get to be outside.

Last night I managed to tear myself off of Fallout 3 and played Rock Band 2 for a while while I waited for the Gears invite that never came... and I'm back in Expert form. Got 2 new high scores on Welcome Home and Alive! Which brings me to the Album of the Day...

 1. Once
 2. Even Flow
 3. Alive
 4. Why Go
 5. Black
 6. Jeremy
 7. Oceans
 8. Porch
 9. Garden
 10. Deep
 11. Release

Again all bolded... this is my generation's White Album, even more so than Nirvana's Nevermind... Nevermind to me laid the foundation for my generation, but Ten defined it. A timeless masterpiece, and the only thing that saddens me is that Timmy will never truly appreciate it.

Read more Dune - it's getting good... dying to finish it so that I can watch the movie again. And I caught most of Super Size Me (I heart Netflix On Demand!). I have to admit I went into it with my own thoughts of what it would be (bunch of propaganda nonsense honestly), but by the time it was over I restated my oath to never, ever, give my son that kind of shit to eat. Yeah, I know he will probably try it eventually - but he will NOT get it from me.

Did you know that something like 15% of parents today think french fries are a vegetable?

Tonight will definitely be Gears night. I'm hoping to get some Horde action in with Jay and Ben - provided they actually log on of course. If you see me skulking around solo in RB or Fallout 3, I'm crying myself to sleep solo so save me from myself with an invite, will ya?

French fries are made from potatos. Potatos are vegetables.
