Shared on Thu, 10/11/2007 - 23:20Okay, I'm working on a PGR4 review piggie-backed with a review of the Speed Freek, not sure if anyone is playing PGR4 with this whole Halo epidemic, but I'll probably need to find some folks to play with on the site in the coming days. I've got a busy weekend but I wanted to start gaining initial impressions a.s.a.p.
So far, the games graphics look more crisp than PGR3 but I'm not sure it's on par with Forza 2. I think Forza spents more time trying to make the cars look more detailed where PGR tends to try to keep up the speed with a bit less "realism."
The career mode mimics much like what you'd see in Forza 2, oddly, and their "arcade mode" is a mimic of PGR3 it seems. The weather is really neat...they put some time into that. Fog looks awesome, rain and snow is neat but it's really not that distracting unless you play INSIDE the car. The fog and thunderstorms (with lightening) is intense and ice is just damn tough.
Look for the review on the homepage in the coming days as I get my ass in gear. Woah, a pun!
