No Sales Yet - still holding out

Well, the wife and I have had the site up for a few days now. We're getting some good traffic, roughly 48% of the traffic is sourced from 2old2play - so thanks for those that are taking a look around.

The statistics are wacked at the moment because of my early development and testing google analytics, most of the early traffic was me coding :)

We're still hoping for good things, we've not made any sales yet (besides me and my Castlevania DS). We're hoping the next round of games will yield a few sales so we can afford to continue advertising.

Right now, we're still burning cash buying all the next round of games (NFS: Carbon, Rainbow 6, HD-DVD accessory, CoD3, etc.). That's costly, so hopefully we can recoup some of the cash.

We're hoping for some travelers that will actually buy something in the coming months. We're working with an agency to get our google presence on the first page of google to increase (exponentially) the eyes on the site. Until then, we've just got to grin and bear it. It's still early so we're not expecting a huge success at the start. It comes with time. Unfortunately time is money :-)

I build up the pre-order code so that customers can pre-order stuff - next, i have to fix the fact that we don't give estimates on canadian orders. That should be "fun."

Yeah, the Wii, for us, will be a non-profit maker. I'm predicting that it will cost us money to sell them based on the figures for the DS and PSP. The reason we currently do not stock the DS and PSP hardware is because the DS will cost us more to ship from the distro then we get it for. We can buy a DS from the distributor for the same price as going down to BestBuy and buying it retail - and save shipping costs. The PSP costs more to buy then to sell, so we figured that's not a great sale items :) CodeMonkey

Ill buy somethings, but its just before end of the month, and people are waiting to get paid. I worked for years from 16 yrs old to 22 running a company that dealt with sales, and while it took time for sales to start, pay day and the next few days were huge, same for welfare day. Then it was slower rest of the month. Might be the same for your company until it gets going

Yeah, whatever it is I just hope it picks up :) My wife gets a little disappointed at times because it looks bleak, I just keep telling her - the site's not even been up for a week, time is important. That and we've had a rough time finding hot items on Ebay to sell (looks like the Razor mouse might be a seller, too early to tell)

I called and made a request to purchase 2 titles... hopefully you can figure out something for shipping to Canada efficiently. Patience D, you have a winning concept here.

Yeah, you need to tell your wife that most companies dont see a profit for at least a year. 2 weeks is not bad. lol

Dan, she told me you called and is working on the quote. We can ship it to you no problem over the phone, my online pricing is just not working yet. I staged it last night, now I have to write some communication code to talk with usps-international to get the quotes on shipping costs, do some testing, and then canadians can order online :)

Online stores built customer base built on street cred. Maybe you need to have some too good to be true promo that's going to cost you money short term. But the upside is you can provide a stellar customer service experience to those people. They'll tell other people and your street cred will grow. I think that's way more valuable 'advertising' than sticking your link at the top of google. If no one knows who you are, doesn't matter really if you're at the top of google or not.
