I published this in the podcast/magazine forum, but I'm syndicating it to the blog for those that don't hit that forum and may care.

Guys and Gals,

As you may have noticed from recent schedule changes to the magazine I'm trying to free up some time due to an overwhelming number of projects with deadlines. However, the magazine, in it's current form, is extremely stressful with recent life changes (my wife 'chaosnation' quit her job to work her own game retail site at techdiversions).

These changes put me into a new line of work as a web developer, marketing promoter, and SEO (search engine optimization) dude - this is a lot of work.

Doodirock and I have been working on a side project, soon to be released, that will expand the 2old2play site to a "network" of sites - starting with our first creation in the coming weeks, or if we get our way - next week.

This new site will be specifically designed to publish as much content as possible in a blog format similar to that of kotaku.com or joystiq.com

What does this mean for the magazine? This means I will be using the same processes, the same "call for topics" that I've been using to gather creative projects but I will be focusing them at a larger audience to gain more traction and more momentum for the site and its growing network of sites.

You may ask "how code, is this less work?" It's really not less work, its just more fluid work without a hard target deadline requiring spreadsheets to organize data, fall dates, design layout reviews and a release. So really, it's just the process that I can throw away which will save me hours to weeks of time (believe it or not).

I'll inform those that work with us on the magazine in a more individual approach to keep my long post a bit shorter. But, if you have ever worked on the magazine or expressed interest you'll probably be hearing from me soon Smile

Front-Page news will remain front-page news for sure, and we'll still use social networking to get the word out (i.e. digg, etc.) This new site will replicate some of that content, cross-promote it and generate more personal opinions and non-news (awesome youtube clip, fan artwork, rants about the industry, etc.)

If you'd like to know more about this please e-mail me at editor@2old2play.com or send me a PM (I prefer e-mail because our PM box is so tiny)

Doodi and I are full steam on board with the idea and want to expand our presence and get your tips, editorials, and talented content to more people around the globe.

Thanks,

CodeMonkey
