Well, I'm back from my business trip, $3,100 lighter than when I left. I'm still waiting on the hotel insurance from my trip to get back to me and tell me how much (if any) they plan to repay me for my laptop (last blog). It was stolen after 3 hours of checking into the hotel and I also lost my ipod nano somewhere during the plan trip, so all my key tech toys are missing.

Trying to rebuild my replacement mac now, and get my new ipod back up to date. Then I can start to morn all the shit I've lost from the theft (in terms of files). I'm sure more will come to mind as I get stuff back up and going.

Sneaky little buggers arent they! My daughter announced her mouth hurt 3 hours into a 18 hour drive and then puked all over herself and her carseat. Thank goodness for easily washable carseat covers and walmarts in every town (her suitcase was burried so we bought her a cheap outfit to wear.) Your not a bad dad at all. If you were bad you would have left it for your wife to clean up ;)

almost sounds like your daughter gets car sick. my sister was bad for this for years.. grew out of it when she was an adult.. but a gravol / travel tablet kept her from puking every car trip

I still suffer from motion sickness! And with Rogue's driving, well, let's just say that Dramamine is your friend!

That sucks dude. i fyou just hop out for a couple hours you don't expect your shit to go missing. Guess you have to take anything you value with you these days. Watched a thing on TV a while ago about how key cards that don't get returned can sometimes open the same door months later. I travel with my 360 and leave it in the room, guess i'll be taking it with me from now on and my laptop whenever i leave the room. Sucks you can't leave anyting around these days. You should maybe look into 'phone home' software for your mac especially if you travel a decent amount. Then wehen the bitches plug it into the internet, it'll phone home with the IP address it's on and the cops can if they choose to put the effort into it , recover your laptop. We had a theft of 3 laptops in the office, 1 of the 3 had phone home software but the cops wouldn't go after it, not enough value to recover i guess. Bastards.

Lets see, maybe with the new lappy you need - insurance, 'phone home' software, laptop chain and a comprehensive backup plan that is realistic to your lifestyle. Little late now, but with all those steps maybe you won't have a second theft (or such a great loss of data).

Yeah, I've got to work on the backups, I had most stuff, but not every single thing (like my latest photos) My insurance will cover it (minus deductable) if theirs doesn't, but I'm not willing to let it stand. They'll be getting an earful no matter what b/c I shouldn't have to deal with THEIR insurance, they should. Just give me my f'ing money and deal with it on your own. My company brought 700 people to their company and we drank up at least $300.00 a night in bar bills (just my small team), you'd think they would be able to spare the 3k.

What hotel branch was that bro? Fucking sucks man. That happens frequently. I always look for hotels with a security safe large enough to fit my Macbook.
