Shared on Fri, 11/10/2006 - 09:49I finally got the chance to play my Xbox 360 last night! Ok, well, my wife's 360 (pooka, a site member, is currently fixing mine). Anyway, I bought the Wireless headset and CoD3 from my wife's little company and powered it on. This was the first time in three months.
I finished the training (got 5 achievement points for my "work") and started the first sequence of movies before starting the battle - and got a friends invite to play CoD3 multi-player.
Here is where things go ugly. I had played the game for all of 10 minutes and started up a multi-player game without any real clue. I was still adjusting to the control scheme (I beat CoD2 on veteran but I've played G.R.A.W since then). Anyway, to make the story short - I didn't do my team any favors :-)
My first experience was driving a vehicle - cool! ... into a friendly tank... not cool. This killed me and Teufelhunden fairly quickly. All I could say is "oops."
Later, I managed a bit of "friendly fire" from my Tank shells on a friendly tank. However, the best part? Teufelhunden and R3DMAN1138, my team - they didn't bitch moan or complain. They just respawned and kept up the good fight. I got better once I learned what a class was, and how to plant mines. But, I just wanted to say thanks to those two guys for losing some battles last night with the codemonkey n00bster.
You're all awesome sports. If I had been on a match with some teenaged timmies I'm sure I would have gotten a mouth full of curses.
