What year were you born? Obvious Question for an older gamer site right?
Haha good one. I still haven't understood what all the rage about COD being 720p on the XBoxOne is. XBoxone isn't limited to 720p :-)
It shouldn't be limited to 720p as it has a BluRay player in it. I guess the shoe is on the other foot this go around with Microsoft having to prove themselves, comparet to the last generation with Sony and the Cell technology they incorporated for the PS3. Time will tell, as always, which is the better system.
You can drop the conditional: the XboxOne is not limited to 720p. It supports 1080p and 4x that, according to an article I read, much like the PS4 by the way. So it's really up to Activision or the studio to make COD 1080p on the Xbox. But I guess anything is worth throwing at the opposing party in a console flame war :-)
Forza's T-10 is maintaining their 60 fps going forward in the XBone at 1080.
The reason Rubin gives for the difference in resolution, then, is unfamiliar architecture and the optimisation process to maintain that 60 frames per second experience.
Interesting. This sounds like a political choice to me: Activision doesn't think that the XBoxOne is worth the effort. Which suggests a preference for Sony vs Microsoft. a preference already apparent with Destiny and Bungie's sudden love for Sony. Would Sony buy out a game publisher like they did for movies, i.e. is Activision a target?
The xbone is just weaker. That's all there is to it. The graphic bits in the ps4 are about double that of the xbox. The memory is faster and easier to work with as well. Will there be great looking games on the xbox? Yeah of course but multiplats should just be easier to work with on the ps4 due to brute graphics strength.
