So Today is Porkchop Platoons 1 year Anniversery as a Clan with 2o2p. I am very proud to be a part of these guys and gals. I want to repost what I told them in out clan forums:

"I want to thank to Slee and Lord for putting all the time and dedication into creating this Clan and keeping it running. You guys do a fantastic job. In addition to that I want ot thank all the PCP Staff for helping them enuring we are running smoothly since we all know Slee and Lord can not do it by themselves all the time.

Also I want to thank everyone in the clan for making this not just a Video Game Clan. I have been able to get to know a lot of you pretty well. It's not just people I play games with anymore. That was what I was looking for when i signed up, but I ended up finding a group that has let me make a lot of good friends."

I hope he dosen't mind, but I want to also show Mr.Sleestak's post to all the PCP folks. It really shows what were are about as a clan. I have gotten to know Slee pretty well over my time with the clan and I must say him and all the other pigges are great people.

"To the members of the Pork Chop Platoon…Thanks.

Almost 1 year ago to the day, Lord and I exchanged PMs discussing the possibility of starting our own COD 4 clan and how we would like to see it structured. We tossed a few names around and eventually settled on the “Pork Chop Platoon” which seemed appropriate for what we hoped to build. We scoured our friend’s lists for a dozen or so people willing to help us meet the minimum requirement to be set up with our own forums. We were on our way!

While we were somewhat optimistic knowing that having such a great product in COD 4 would undoubtedly draw in members, we never imagined that it would be at such a tremendous pace. We thought that in a few months we could hope to attract 50 or so members and were totally caught by surprise when that goal was reached in a mere 2 weeks. This influx of members continued for a few more weeks and we quickly had over 250 members, which would prompt “holy shit” type of PM exchanges between Lord and myself. We had the people…now what???

We also realized that COD 4 would only provide interest and that we would need to differentiate ourselves from other site clans to assure our success. The key, in our estimation, was to build camaraderie through active forums and active online participation through a dedicated clan night. There would also be no limitations based on skill level and the clan would instead focus on attitude and personality as our main membership criteria. Once we helped do our best to create this atmosphere we would essentially hand the clan to its members and the two of us would provide the necessary administrative support.

The rest I guess is history. Great people make for a great clan and you guys are the best! I can tell you that watching the idea of 2 friends grow into what is undoubtedly the best clan on the site has been a real privilege. Sure, this is a rather bold claim, but I have seen nothing to disprove it either.

I have seen a group of people wear a clan tag in support of a members mother who had passed away…a person they had never met other than on the virtual battlefield.

I have seen a member lend an extra xbox to another member while theirs was being repaired. [cerb](That was me who was helped. Thank You Armada once again for doing that!!! He lives in Ok and I am in PA.)

I have seen a member donate their own time and money to promote both financial support and awareness for a member whose daughter is battling a terrible disease.

I have seen a member send a free year of XBL to another member whose priority and budget had changed with the pending addition to their family.

So I want to thank you all for the past year. You guys have taught me so much about an array of topics other than videogames. You guys and gals always provide support or laughter or advice when I needed it most. You have made every shitty day I have to endure at work enjoyable by all of your posts and the site chat silliness. I honestly believe that there is nothing this clan would not try to do for each other and that is just amazing to me. I have developed real friendships here with people from not only across the country but around the world. You all have a friend in NY and I would be honored to share a beer with any of you.

Thanks, Erik (mr sleestak, Slee, Mrs Lee…whatever you prefer)"
