So I've changed ISP's just recently. Big deal right? Wrong. I now have to go thru all my wife's emails and my own and send out the new email addresses. But the real problem lies with XBOX Live. I called tech support and they informed me that I cannot change the email address assosiated with my gamertag, that I must make a new tag for the new email. A friend of mine said that's bullocks he didn't have to do that. He just went into his dashboard and set up the new email. So I'm not sure as what to do. Guess I'll find out when I try to long in to my account once I get home.

Thats crap! I don't really know the answer but I sure hope you can just change your email. Seems kind of stupid to not be able to change your email. I know they charge you or require you to wait until your Live account renews to change your Gamertag, but for heavens sake...your not changing your Gamertag and shouldn't be required to. Hope all goes well! :)

wait, aren't you using an MSN/Hotmail account? I thought those were required when signing up with Live. My understanding (from your blog) is you were using your ISP's provided email account and when you made the switch to a different ISP, you had to inform your contacts of the new (again a new ISP provided email) account. I wasn't aware that you could use anything else for your Microsoft Network Passport account.. maybe I'm wrong.

I changed my e-mail address. I had a military one and when I got out I changed it to a yahoo one. Only thing is that you have to use your old e-mail when signing in IF I remember correctly.

I forget where it is but you can change your email address at xbox.com. The 800-4my-xbox tech support douche told me you couldn't so I ended up getting a new gamer tag for no damn reason.

This post is a.k.a why it is ALWAYS a good policy to have a 3rd party email address. I use gmail, Yahoo as well as my own domain. A domain without web hosting is damn cheap, and the providers usually have decent web mail access. Try 1and1.com ... I see captjb.com is available..... (Yes, I have mulchinator.com)

yup I use my bellsouth ISP account for my MNP account. And it's also the one on my gamertag. So maybe I can keep my current gamer tag with the old addr, don't know if LIVE pings the address before letting you log on.I'll keep you guys posted as to which way this turns out.

When I first signed up with live, I was using @tampabay.rr.com. When I moved my new email address was @comcast.net. Had no problems changing the email. Also, no you do not need a MSN/Hotmail account. I believe if you look around at the xbox site..maybe the billing portion, you should be able to find out what you need to do.
