Shared on Fri, 07/06/2007 - 11:45I figured since I enjoy this community and seem to spend a lot of time here, I might as well cement my place as a member by making my blog.
I guess I should throw out a heads up that I tend to blog about, well, nearly everything, so this probably won't be a blog limited to games alone. I have a livejournal, but I never use it because everyone I used to check on have either moved to blogger, gone to other sites, or stopped blogging in general.
For me, keeping a blog is almost required for.. well.. mental reasons, to put it bluntly. Hence the title above.
Where to begin? Well I guess I'll use this post as a sort of "introduction".
Without further adieu, a little about me.
I was born and raised in the small city of Newport News, Virginia, which is on the Virginia Peninsula. It's where I still live to this day. For those semi-familiar with the larger cities in the area, Newport News is about 20 miles northwest of Norfolk and 35 miles northwest of Virginia Beach. I've been married for 6 years now, but my wife and I have been together for 11 years. I have a 14 year old stepson. The rest of my family are of the animal persuasion: 1 cat and 2 pet rats.
I'm a network engineer by trade and education, but recently unemployed and, unfortunately, disabled. I have several back injuries and severe Panic Disorder which, combined, nearly keep me prisoner in my own home. If I sometimes act off the wall, blame Lorazepam. I know I do.
My first gaming machine, as a kid, was that new fangled Colecovision. From there my parents got an Atari 2600, then a Texas Instruments TI-99/4A computer (Alpiner FTW). After that, my parents got me a Nintendo, and the rest was history, as they say.
Anyway, enough rambling. It's good to be here and good to be blogging again.
