The police are bored

I've lived in Roanoke, va for about two years now.  In that time, I have been pulled over by police four times.  In those four times I have got a total of zero tickets.  I know what you're thinking: "Hey Buckeye, stop bitching.  At least you didn't get any tickets."

Of course I didn't get tickets.....................I wasn't fucking speeding!  I leave for work between 3 and 3:30am every morning.  I guess the cops think that if they see a car at that time, I'm either drunk or about to steal something.  All four times I've been pulled over, I get to play 20 questions

Where are you coming from?

Where do you live?

Where are you going?

Where do you work?

Do you always go to work at this time?

Are you making any other stops?

etc.

I'm tired of it and I want them to leave me alone.  This morning I got pulled over and got to play the question game.  Five minutes after that, I passed another cop who turned around and rode my bumper all the way until I pulled into work.  WTF?

Is it city PD or county? What part of town are you in when you get pulled? Maybe they're fishing for something else. It sort of sounds like they're looking at you for drugs or something. Do they tell you why they're stopping you? There has to be some reason to pull you like speeding or running a red light or something.

I'm not speeding or running a red light or anything. Also, I drive on the road that is the border of county and city so I'm not sure which one is pulling me over and following me.

They're drunk fishing. Even though, they should have a reason to stop you as in a traffic violation. Next time they stop you, ask the officer for his name and department. Call the chief and let him know what's going on.

You're lucky to have such a vigilant PD where you live. Overhere the cops retreat to the big city at 7PM. If something big happens, they have to come down from frigging Nijmegen. Maybe you should ask for a windshield-vignette that says "I've been randomly pulled over at [date]" so other cops leave you alone for like a month. =))

We had a guest speaker come to our college. He told us that something like 40% of the people driving at 1AM are legally drunk and some ungodly percentage (like 80%) were legally drunk at 4AM. No idea whether it is true, but if it is they should probably pull over everyone. Maybe you could stop by the police station one day and introduce yourself. Bring some donuts and ask them to leave you the f alone. NG

I think the only real answer here is to stop going to work.
