Obligatory Top 10: Xbox Live Arcade titles I'd love to see

Boring day at work today, really nothing to do (or that I feel like doing), so here goes, another blog post. This time, I figured I'd succumb to the tried and true (read: cliche) Top 10 list syndrome and feature my personal Top 10 games that I'd like to see on Xbox Live Arcade, in no particular order.

I encourage you, the reader, to reciprocate and show the world just what you want to play on XBLA. Who knows, we get enough games in common and some XBLA high-up comes browsing through we may get our way. Wishful thinking never hurt anyone.

Speaking of wishful thinking, I'm sure there are some of these that aren't at all possible to put on XBLA for various reasons, such as maybe file sizes are much too big, but anyway. Without further adieu:

* Street Fighter 3: Third Strike
* Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper
* Quake
* Marathon
* Carmageddon
* Blood
* MegaRace 2
* Killer Instinct
* Perfect Dark
* Goldeneye

There we have it. Lots of shooters in there, but I can't hide my roots. DOOM was too much of a teaser for me to not think about how great some of those games would be to have. Perfect Dark especially after the letdown of Perfect Dark Zero. It's very obvious to me that all the greatest minds who worked on the original and Goldeneye for N64 were the ones who jumped ship from Rare to start Free Radical, designers of the Timesplitters franchise, Second Sight and the forthcoming title Haze.

Those of you who never played MegaRace 2... I'm sorry. It was fantastic. Control was a little sluggish, but it was an extremely fun battle racing game. I've been toying with the idea of buying a "new" PC that I can run it on because the Pentium II that I have sitting around, nor Virtual PC on my PowerMac G5 can't run it quite well enough. it's that good. MegaRace 1 was way too easy and was primitive for the time (racing mostly on straightaways with slight turns) and MegaRace 3 just plain sucked. So there we go. Microsoft, individual developers, anyone.... make them happen.

I'm starting to think we are going to see newer console and PC (1996 and later)much later on if at all. If MS can spend less money and time getting older, smaller game files to work on XBLA and charging a premium, they'll keep doing it. Later they will bring out the big guns...I hope. Nice blog.
