ugh....just spent some duckets on:

Aoyue 968 reflow workstation

xbox360 bga kit

41*41 nozzle

39*39 nozzle

28*28 nozzle

This is going to be fun! I have about a dozen or so xbox 360's that need fixed. No, I haven't ruined that many of them. I picked them up here and there for about $35 bucks each all of them had the RROD. Some of them only needed cleaned! LOL! Like the Halo 3 edition that I have been using.  Out of the 15 or so that I've purchased originally over the past year i have about 7 units that are still being stubborn. The other units have been given to me or belong to friends that need fixing. So, I figured i might try my hands at a more permanent solution to the RROD. I've watched several videos and have been reading up on this quite a bit and it seems pretty simple. I have a couple of practice boards to play with before I dig into the consoles so that will give me at least a couple of practice trys. If it works out, and i'm confident it will, I'll have some units I can sell AND from what I can see on eBay the older units that can be j-.......let's just say altered, seem to go for a decent amount of money.

Keep your fingers crossed! The equipment should show up this week! :D woot!

Sounds fun. What does that station go for may I ask?

$150 about a year ago or so they were almost twice as much so it's a pretty good deal. It's also a solder station as well which I needed a new one anyway. Even if it's not the greatest it's worth a shot for the price. i would have loved one of the laser machines but, they were about $2250! The only item I have left to pick up is a thermocouple and usb interface.

Hey Bone, I dunno the legality of reselling refurbs so I suppose Ebay is defintely your best bet. And when you say "altered" I hope you're not thinking about pedaling those particular boxes here - all that will do is earn you a ban. We'll have nothing to do with that here and I won't see the site jeopardized because you've got a new hobby that can make you some quick cash. Please keep that kind of thing clear of 2o2p. Thanks.

I never said I was going to sell them on here bro so chill. :) I'm not even going to do any sort of modification to them myself. I just noticed a certain firmware type and system type fall within that category so I can sell them as such. I've never once asked or have done any sort of mods for anyone on this site so please don't make that assumption ok? i dont' want people getting the wrong idea and that's not what I'm here to do. Besides, I've spoken with another member who does case mods (and has donated them to 2O2P events) and we were working out a donation type of deal with legit refurbd consoles. Please don't make me out to be a peddler. I take offense to that. I know you're just giving me a heads up buddy but, it kind of sucks.
