CompUSA and HP Make Biorod Mad

So it occurred to me today that last week, a CompUSA rep told me my laptop would arrive in a week.  He also said that I'd receive an email with the tracking number once it shipped.  So far, I've received jack in my inbox.  I called them again today to say "WTF?"  The rep told me that HP has pushed my laptop's shipping date to October 3rd.  It's not even shipping for 3 weeks after I ordered it, which is ridiculous.  But what bothers me more is that if I hadn't called, I would've received absolutely no information on my order's status.  They don't send out emails whenever an order is delayed?

Seems like even most large co. dont have a back-up policy for stuff like that. What if that was business related and you were expecting something like for electronic cashiering. That could be devastating to any business let alone frustrating to you. You have every right to be pissed and because the co. doesnt have these things in place it seems the follow up time for tracking problems and customers venting has got cost the co. more than procedures to inform the customer in the first place. Seems obvious they would put more effort in taking care of the customer after the sale, especially BEFORE they receive their it. Just seems dumb.
