I realize I haven’t posted in a while, so here’s a bit of an update. We are refinancing our house, the Appraiser came, took some pictures, then ran off with the $450 we paid for the service 2 weeks after the deadline to turn it in, her employer tracked her down, confiscated our paperwork, revoked her license and fired her. Now we are fighting to get a refund because of the extra expenses we had to endure thanks to that psycho. I should have know there was something wrong with her when all 3 of our cats glared at her the whole time she was there. I dont' like that she knows where we live, and that she has been inside our house now that she also knows that we were the ones to have her fired and got her license revoked. But if anything happens we will know exactly who did it.
There is a new toy in the house, I am babysitting a Ruger Mk1 .22 pistol that belonged to my wife’s Grandfather. It went to my father-in-law, but he is having us hold on to it for the time being.
I have been training with my Taurus 66 .357 Mag revolver for hunting season and I am consistently shooting a 4” group at 65 Yards. Though my groups get a little sporadic when I bump up to the +P 200gr hunting rounds; I hope to bring that spread back into control before I go broke since the rounds are $2 each, but the damage these things can put out is impressive, they do more damage to my shooting backstop than most of my rifles.
I am also practicing for a Vintage Rifle Match, I am currently shooting a 2’ grouping at 300 yards with stock(no optics) Lee Enfield, I hope to get that down to a 9 – 12” group by this winter, so I can be ready for next year (again without breaking the bank, these are $3 per round for the competition loads)
We survived the Great Flood of 2011, the Susquehanna River flooded, we stayed dry but the pumps in our basement got quite a workout. We also ended up with 2 days off work thanks to flood waters blocking every road into the city, and our alternate work location having the first floor almost totally submerged.
On the gaming front, we finally got our 2 main characters on WoW up to lvl 85 and are working on maxing out all of their minor professions.
I have made the decision that we will not be buying Modern Warfare 3. If they want me to spend $100 for the game or $60 now and $50 a year just to get the full experience, they can go to hell. I will be playing Gears 3 and Skyrim and enjoying the hell out of them until I can buy MW3 used from a bargain bin just so I can play the campaign, then put it on a shelf and let it gather dust.
Other than that, it has been pretty slow here. I have still been avoiding any political news, which means that I’ve been in a good mood, and lots of things are starting to look up.
