First off, the new keyboard is awesome, it's a Saitek Cyborg, it's not wireless, bu it's nice to put that old PS2 keyboard back in the box with the PS2.  But on the way home, I kinda bought the World of Warcraft Battle Chest.....um....oops. I haven't tried to play it on this PC yet, hoping to fix the laptop so my wife and I can start up together and stay atleast close to the same level. But it may still be a week or two off since I may have to buy some parts for the laptop, and possibly throw some money into this PC as well. Thanks Jason for the list of parts, between what I have and your suggestions I may be able to get up and running sooner rather than later.

Take care of yourself (and don't put that poor filly into such a no win situation again, 'cause as you know, you'll pay the consequences, not her!) History didn't pique my interest until late in life and primarily because of personal or family involvement.

So what is your budget for your PC upgrades?

@pythonista it depends on the cost of fixing the laptop. at the moment it looks like that repair won't be very expensive thanks to a new friend at a newly opened computer shop. he is putting together an upgrade schedule with parts that are completely compatible with my current system in a way that we can upgrade it over time.

Glad to hear that you didn't get hurt any worse. When I was about 4 years old, I got kicked in the stomach by a horse. We lived in a rural house and the landlord kept a horse in the pasture next to the house. We were not allowed to play in the pasture. Of course, my older brother decided to do just that. I of course, being the tagalong that I was, joined him. We and another boy, chased the horse around trying to "corral" him. (I know...not a smart thing). We finally cornered the horse and formed a human fence with me directly behind him/her. The horse seemed scared (of course he/she was...being chased by 3 kids)...so I reached up to pat him...and got kicked in the gut. My brother told me to tell mom I fell off the swing. Of course, the hoof print gave us away. So we got in trouble for lying AND for playing in the pasture.

Shit, they didn't go into that deep of detail in history of the war 20 years ago.

If a game can introduce people to history, so be it.

Better watch it taking care of that horse, reads like she really didn't like what you were doing. Everything I wanted to know about the various wars I had to learn on my own. The only time schools went into any detail about wars were right before Veterans or Memorial Days.

The filly is young and I put her in a position where the only way to tell me she was uncomfortable was to kick. I didn't handle her the way I should have. Lesson learned.
