I hate the late summer/early fall. The glare on the TV is at its worst, the wind picks up and blows the neighbors trash all over the yard…. But it’s that odd temperature change and pressure change here in PA that kills me.
With the weather change and cool moist air comes the pain
My left shoulder throbs from where I tore my rotator cuff and the places across my back, where I broke 3 ribs, causes the tendons down my arm to get tight and sore.
My left forearm aches constantly where I tore the tendons in my elbow.
Right hip holds a dull ache that throbs anytime I take my weight off of it (thanks to a slow rotational dislocation of the hip joint…not fun), but that knee aches when I put weight on it (torn MCL).
The ‘broke many times but never healed right’ ribs on my left side start to pulse with pain.
My hands are in constant pain from the arthritis and bursitis that has plagued them since I was 17.
My nose hurts and bleeds without warning thanks to the ‘too many times to remember’ that I broke it and the one time I shattered my eye socket.
Massive pain in the right side of my jaw where it was fractured, dislocated, and had a tendon torn.
Also, my lower back aches, but that is a constant any time of the year.
(as well as a few injuries(one major) that I really don’t want to think about)
Boxing and wrestling, 2 sports that never let you forget what you put yourself through to get the wins. But with a career of 6-0-0 in boxing, and 98-8 in wrestling (144-12 counting tournaments) it all felt like it was worth it....at the time. Now looking back, I never got a scholarship out of it; it took a few years to get my kidneys and liver back from the verge of failing from the constant starving, dehydration, and physical punishment. Yeah, it wasn’t worth it. It wasn’t even for a sport that came with any glory, popularity, or recognition. No “glory days” just having to deal with class mates asking what the hell happed that I was always beat up, and a closet full of trophies that don’t even see the fresh air to gather dust.
If this is me at 28, I really don’t want to know what “old age” is like.
But on the bright side we are going to be applying a 30% tint to the windows/skylights in our living room so the glare on the TV won’t be nearly as much trouble as they were in past years.
WoW news
And finally I have a WoW character….a permanent, real one.
Bonus points to the person who catches the movie reference.
The news on the laptop is not good, what they thought would be a $14 Bios Chip issue was rapidly traced to a $250 Video card issue that will take them ANOTHER 5 days to get shipped and they aren’t entirely sure that’s the issue. If it isn’t the issue, at least they won’t charge us for fixing something that doesn’t need fixed like the last guy tried to do right before he tried to convince me to let him part it out on ebay for us with the promise that he’d give us “some of the money from selling the parts.” I still wish I could do more than write a bad review for that guy.
