the death of a cultural icon

here is the review I wrote on Gamefly for Leisure Suit Larry, Box Office Bust.

I was a massive fan of all of the earlier Larry games, I have played every one of them(except 4....the real fans know why), and while this one had some of the best voice tallent they could have in such a game, every other aspect of it fell far below even my most pessimistic of views. The story is pathetic, the gameplay has been reduced to chasing dots on a mini-map and randomly selecting dialog options without any consequence for wrong answers...they took the crude humor of the earlier games and reduced it to a vew lousy puns and watching an RV bounce up and down.  The characters were hollow, one dimensional, and without even an even basic sense of motive.
The construction of this game is full of bugs, shortcuts, and glitches that could have been eliminated with even a small attention to detail, Unreal should be very embarased for letting this games developers taint their reputations with this waste of disk space.
After this trainwreck, I am not sure I will ever risk wasting my time with another Lary game.  I am heart broken to say that, but when they decided to release this game, they decided to end the possibility of ever gaining funding for a sequel.

seriously, this game was horrible, I won't even finish it, and I'm an achievement hunter. the only thing that kept this game from being rated E is the occasional dildo reference, use fo a gun and occasional sucky fighting. ....yes you heard me right....fighting in a Larry game, the mini games gave you a full 5 seconds to hit one button, everything that made any larry game fun was absent from this game....you don't even get an inventory....goodbye Larry, it was a good run...but I am done, as far as I'm concerned you died after Love for Sail, and while Magna Cum Laude was a good game,....Larry Laffer is the only true Larry.
