My parents just told us what our Christmas present will be this year....they are paying for a family vacation. just my wife and I, my sister and her husband, and my parents! so after 12 hours of discussion we finally figured on a caribbean cruise. Leaving Baltimore on the 20st of February and spending 6 days of peace in the tropics..... then it got strange.

because my sister couldn't leave the house without telling her in-laws all about it and inviting them to go too, we are now having a quiet family vacation with someone elses extended family (in-laws, their kids, their kid's kids, uncles and possibly cousins.....then my sister started telling all her friends about it and they are all on board too....now I admit, my sister and I dont' exactly see eye to eye and she does take this "look at me" crap to extreme levels, but I still got a bit miffed about it. so as a "kindness" my family has decided to allow me to extend an invitation to any of my "friends" who may want to scheduel the same vacation. They think its kind-of funny that I don't have any "friends" that I hang out with at bars, or go clubbing with or any of that stuff that they see as normal....so I'm extending this invitation to my friends. So what do you say, anyone here 2old2cruise?

I'll have more details on it if anyone is interested. but here is the trip we are trying to scheduel. and keep in mind it would probably require a passport.

Awe, come on Char, my wife's excited about going and she hates the water, boats, people, and the beach.

I know the feeling. My intimate thanksgiving dinner for 6 ended up being for 16. Guess who had to bear the financial burden of feeing 10 more? Yup, my wife and I.

well, luckily with this, we aren't doing it to save money, or get a group rate. I'm just hoping that we don't end up the only gamers on a boat of 3,000 people.

A cruise is actually a great way to do a huge vacation like that. Dean and I got married on a cruise and we had 14 guests come with us. The ships are huge and everyone just kind of went their own way for most of the vacation and we'd all just meet up for dinners. Just book your excursions really early so you have excuses to not hang with the pack.

Sounds like a great plan. Go, have fun, and ditch them when you can. I'm not a cruise ship kinda person. Can't stand the thought of being locked up with tons of people! That's way too much for my ears..lol Y'all have a good time, take lots of pics to show us.
