Adventures in Azeroth,

 

Friday; on the way home, my wife talked me into stopping by this little sub shop where they make the best manicotti, the place happens to be next to Gamestop….so while I waited for our order, in I went and out I came with a copy of the WoW Battlechest. We went home and proceeded through our normal Friday. 

 

Saturday; my wife suggested (again) that I get the laptop fixed. After getting quotes from a few places, I ended up at a relatively new place called Maximum Computers ( http://gomaxpc.com/ ) they were half the price of every other place I checked($20 diagnostic fee that will be refunded if any service is performed, $55 per hour, parts with a minimum mark up). So I left them with the laptop and they gave me a suggested path of upgrade for our desktop that will actually let me piece it together a little at a time. They also have a rather nice, fairly cheap Gateway laptop that I may pick up instead of upgrading the desktop at this time so we can sit and game side by side.   Then we talked for a bit one computers, gaming, and gadgets in general. After my tech talk needs were satisfied we went home.

 

Sunday; Well, now we did it. Using a spare email account, I set up a 10 day free trial just to see how bad the desktop would be at the moment for running WoW.  Honestly, it wasn’t too bad, yes the game was turned down to the bare minimum, but it was somewhat smooth, and there we sat for almost 6 hours, playing, slaying wolves, and boars, and a few trolls running quests as a Dwarf Hunter. After my wife went to bed I leveled a few skills, got lost, ended up in Iron Forge (I think that was the city.) and called it a night. After only a few hours we already have an arch-nemesis named Onehitdead. All I can really use to describe him is, he (or she) is a total dick, harassing everyone to duel, spamming the request until the person gives in (we didn’t). He was dueling everyone, always winning….I wonder why, he was 7 levels above everyone else, but the coward spent at least an hour attacking any level 1-5 player he saw.

 

But this character is just temporary. Once the Laptop is fixed we’ll be both starting new from the ground up partying up and battling our way through everything WoW has to offer. now all I have to do is learn the new lingo, I keep trying to use Ultima Online terms,
