2 Tickets to the Gun Show

no, it's not a pic of me flexing....although that could be arranged if the demand is high enough....on a similar topic to my last post, I have another gun show to go to on Saturday morning…so here are a few items I’m considering for fun target guns and/or to keep as collectables. (I’ll probably only end up with only one of them if any, but if the deal is too good, who am I to say no.) and yes I do have the proper permits and such for each.

  1. Mac 10 – Semi auto chambered in .45. holds good value, expected to appreciate a lot, and has a good (but sometimes polluted) history. ~$450
  2. Tec 9 – Semi auto chambered in 9mm Looks awesome, cheap and fun to shoot, not many accessories available for it, but it doesn’t really need them anyway. value changes will be hard to predict. ~$450
  3. AK 47 – Semi auto chambered in 7.62 NATO. Great long history, reliable, fun and cheap to operate. Will definitely appreciate in value ~$450-500
  4. Mosin Nagat- bolt action…come on, you all know this from the COD Russian campaigns….chambered in 7.62R. Not as cheap to shoot, but it has a good history and will retain its value. ~$120-200
  5. Enfield Revolver – ugly gun, in an odd chamber (380 Enfield), so it won’t be shot very often at all. Will be a collectable/investment only. ~$200
  6. Tokarev TT-33 - another COD gun chambered in 9mm Tokarev. Another COD side arm (you know, that one you haven’t picked since you unlocked the .357 magnum) ~$200
  7. AR-15 – Semi auto in 7.62 nato (mostly) it’s a semi auto M16, reliable, fun to shoot, cheap ammo too. It’s an icon and will only increase in value…tons of accessories and parts available too….the problem....~$800-2,600 (a bit out of my price range unless I can get a GREAT deal)
  8. SKS – think of it as the AK’s little brother, also in 7.62NATO, stuffed into a full rifle stock with a permanently attached, foldable bayonet. $100-$450 (depending on the country it was made in)
  9. gun of unknown origin… – since it’s hard to tell what one will find at these things, I won’t predict any special finds. But I am keeping my options open if I find a half decent med-large frame revolver in the 100-300 range….or an M1 Garand in the $450 range (not likely)…I’d also take a micro revolver…they just look so fun with their tiny little grips and trigger….awe, so cute….and average $75-200 depending on age, caliber, maker.
If I can’t find anything at this show (which is a possibility since this is a small one) I may end up trying to get a revolver I saw at a local shop…it’s a Taurus Raging Bull in 480Ruger and an 8.5” barrel….meaning that this thing makes Dirty Harry’s gun look like a cheap airsoft gun. But since the ammo is about $2 per round, it’s not a daily shooter (and yes the thought of shooting this gun scares the crap out of me, but in the end, the adrenaline is 75% of the fun.)

Any opinions or suggestions from the shooters/gun nuts/COD addicts of the site?

Its odd, last show I was at had a rack of 10 AR15s and AK's in 7.62 NATO....I'm guessing they may have been clones of....something.

I thought the SKS only came in 7.62x39 like its big brother?

p.s. the AK 47 is 7.62x39 normally, not the 7.62x51 NATO (or .308 Winchester in civilian U.S.)

AR-15/M16 is 5.56mm (.223 caliber), not normally 7.62 NATO/.308 Winchester. There are a few that have been chambered for 7.62/.308 but not a normal circumstance.

AR-10 is the 7.62NATO. I think you can get an AK 7.62NATO, but why bother, 7.62SOVIET is so cheap you can almost blow ammo like it's nobody's bidness. The 91/30 is sexy as shit, if you can get one with a half way decent barrel or one made in Finland. Also if you can find someone to do the FFL transfer without raping you on the fee, jgsales.com is where I got mine for 80 plus shipping, however, I got jacked with a $50 transfer fee for not doing my homework. Fixing to start the paperwork for a C&R license.
