Well I have not done this in a long time.

My onboard gadget tells me that I have fuel for 23 km.

Consumption rate now is of 15.8 l/100kms

I live 19 km from work and there is a gas station at the corner a few streets before.

I don’t now the limits on my truck so…Do I risk it?

If there is no heavy traffic on the way home I could drop the consumption to about 14.5 what would get me a few more km. But if there is a lot of traffic I could run out of fuel.

Been there, done that. And oh yea... I have ran out of gas a few times in my life. Once on a backroad that I had to walk about a mile or two to the nearest gas station. The other was I ran out of gas in a moving truck (big ol' Penske) on the I-5 grapevine coming from Los Angeles... that one I had to buy about 3 gallons of gas from him for a whopping $50 bucks! But hey... what are you going to do? My advice is that it is better to just go get the gas cause you are going to need it anyway :)

"from him" is talking about a tow truck guy that I called using one of those phones on the side of the road.
