My "Pen Pal," Reggie: ADOPTED!!!

This past week was a great one at the animal shelter!  The best news is that my "Pen Pal," Reggie was adopted by a wonderful family!  Reggie came to our shelter after being neglected for quite some time.  The most obvious sign of neglect was a scar the circled his lower abdomen and went across his back.  We didn't know what it was from, but one of my friends said it could've been from a tether that slipped down and eventually became too tight.

Despite Reggie's past, I've always known him to be a sweet and loving dog.  During my first day with, I took him to a large event in Philly, known as the Mutt Strutt you can find more information about the event, along with a slideshow here.  We all had a great day and the Regster loved meeting all sorts of people and every shape, size, and type of dog!

I'm overjoyed that Reggie found his forever home.  He has three human companions and a doggie "brother," who happens to be deaf and partially blind.  His family did such a wonderful job with their current dog, that this was an easy adoption.  I knew he found his home as soon as the introductions were made.

*Good luck, Reggie.  Be a good boy.  I'm missing you like crazy, but I know you're in a great home now.*

In addition to this, I assisted a new group of volunteers get comfortable at the shelter.  I have a new Pen Pal now too, Shadow!  I'll be posting pictures of Shadow in the near future.
