Great games!

So my Halo3 marathon gaming weekend is up. What a great time! Thanks to everyone I played with for all the games.  Things are going to get serious for me at work this week, (and from what I heard in the lobbies while gaming, I ain't the only one!)  and my family has suffered enough frozen and/or  'whatever can be scrounged up' dinners at home. Anyway,  I won't be on much at all during the week, for that I apologize ahead of time. Hopefully, I will see y'all next weekend!

VA Tech Shootings

My condolences to the families and friends of the victims.

For whatever reason it has been tough for me to work or socialize today thinking about this. As a mom, I am already struggling with getting ready emotionally to send my first kid off to college in a couple years (my thinking is to work through these things early, it will be easier that way). So I have been reading some articles and sifting through things emotionally.

Who Am I?

Here I am 40 years old and we are back to this question. It isn't as though it hasn''t been asked before, it is just now it is with a new  purpose. I have never been a person to dodge the hard questions in life. I also don't pitch a fit (as much) when the answer doesn't come the way I want it to or it doesn't come in my timing. The young seem particulary audacious about this. They get angry at God or whomever they see as the being that should be answering this for them.

Rule of Three

Well, I didn't get it for my birthday, but I got accepted into the Halo3 Beta under the rule of three! I am so excited but there is a part of me that is thinking, "Can it live up to its hype?" I mean Halo2 was colossial! If Mario defined gaming in the eighties; than surely Halo has defined gaming in this decade. I look at all my friends and our taste in games is diverse but we all shared a love for Halo2 (some of us still do).  Finish the Fight is such an excellent title. How did one game pull together all of us? Will it really do it again?

All I want for my Birthday....

...is an acceptance to the Halo3 Beta.   Seriously, I am 40 today. The big 4-0. There are good and bad things about that. For example I could be 25 and getting ready to have my first kid (read: almost continual diapers for about 8 years!) I could be 30 and spending my day trying to take care of three children under five or 35 and getting ready to put my youngest in pre-school for the first time and starting classes at the local community college. To think I was actually looking forward to going to work then.
